Started the day early at 6am to prep for the last hour of weigh-ins, rules meeting and bracketing. This year's tournament is the largest we've hosted here in Bangkok with more than 250 competitors so a full day of matches were ahead of us. I'm very pleased to say there were minimal problems if any and considering the increased number of people we hosted, we finished well.

The community of purple-belts has increased and we saw some very exciting matches there. The larger teams in attendance were Evolve MMA, Marcos Escobar BJJ, Tiger Muay Thai, Phuket Top Team, Grips, Kreation, Jiu-Jitsu Gentleman, Brunei BJJ and hosting academy Bangkok BJJ.

Taking the team trophies this year for the gi-day were:

1st Evolve MMA
2nd Marcos Escobar BJJ
3rd Bangkok BJJ Academy/ Ralph Gracie Thailand

The jiu-jitsu-ladies were in full force with a considerable white and blue-belt divisions. I'd like to personally thank the ladies from Grips JJ for helping tidy up after all the messy guys towards the end of the day. Thank you!

Also, to our team of referees that did an outstanding job. It's a thankless one and you all helped a great deal to make today a success. A big thanks to Dave Clahan, Makoto Ogasawara, Makoto Aramaki, Olavo Abreu, Daniel Charlies Pereira, Erick Buthsombat, Ben Weinstein, Eric Gerber and Pat Aphaisuwan. 9 referees this year and 7 of them black-belts. Thank you guys!

I did my best to take as many photos as I could and will be posting them later this week along with the full results from this weekend. For now, I gotta get some sleep, it's another 6am day tomorrow.

Thanks again to all the competitors and guests that have supported us this weekend.
