2011 THAILAND OPEN: RECORD TURNOUT

It's now 12:15am the day of the tournament but Friday's weigh-ins were a success thanks to our team Bryan Garrison, Minyoung Kim, Anthony Hogan, Ben Weinstein, Ilya Reeves, Chris Haja and Ole Kelderman. Got another full day ahead of us tomorrow and best of luck to all competitors and also to our SEABJJ buddies fighting at the Rickson Cup in Japan this very same weekend. Osu! -Luke

Had a great time competing. Thank you for the hard work you and your team put into this event. Hope to see the results and pics posted soon.

by far, this was WORST tournament i have experienced in my 5 years of competing in BJJ/submission grappling. more than 75% of the matches i observed were miss-called by referees, even at the Elite/Blackbelt level (when there were 2 extra corner refs).

My overall impression of BJJAT thus far is a negative one.

Don't listen to the critics and complainers. Yes there are some issues to be worked out and improved upon, but overall it was a great event, and every year is an improvement.

not surprised, tbh. the head organizers tourney exp is very limited. went to one of his prior tourneys and it was poor

luke try to learn more about throwing a good comp before placing too much energy on hosting them. big congrats to all the competitors

And still not done with typing out the results? Unreal!

Guys,

Perhaps you should learn how to run a comp/website before you start attacking Luke. He's trying to grow the sport, and all you can think of is to attack him?

Grow a pair and come out in the open before you start hurling insults at the man.

Can't wait to see the results and more competition pics.

i dont see any "attacks" only constructive criticism and comments. chill out bro

No need to attack Luke. This was his fourth tournament and he's getting better. People have complaints whether it's the Pan Am, ADCC, or a tournament in a phone booth.

Good work Luke. Can't wait for next year's event!

Some people just like to complain...

Here in Malaysia, we dont even have any competitions to take part in.
