SHOUT OUT!!! NEW BLUE-BELT

A suprised Tum is awarded his blue-belt by Adam Kayoom.
This past Sunday, EMAC's Tum was not only awarded the 'MOST TECHNICAL FIGHTER' award for submitting all his opponents in both gi and no-gi but was promoted to blue-belt by Adam Kayoom. Congratulations to Tum and to all that competed this past weekend at the 'white-belt festival'. -Luke

It is nice to know that there's growth in the BJJ scene in Thailand,,, . Sometimes I wonder how come here in Manila promotion is soooo slow, maybe they haven't cashed from the students yet....

I could be wrong but it's my understanding that a brown-belt can only promote a student up to blue. Anything higher than blue must be given by a black-belt and to receive the black-belt the person who is giving the promotion must by 2nd degree (3+ years as a black-belt).

Luke,

Not sure about the Brown belt part, but when one gets promoted to black, they have no degrees. It takes 3 years for every degree, so to be a 2nd degree BB, u need to have 6 years +, if i'm not mistaken.
