NEW BJJ ACADEMY: SEOUL, KOREA

BJJ black-belt, Mickey Choi, has made the move to Korea from the United States. In 2007, Choi won gold in the black-belt masters feather weight division at the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships and now looks to set up shop in Seoul. I'll soon add him to the 'resident black-belt' section. I found some vids on youtube of Mickey. -Luke

That's awesome! I have to share this with some friends of mine that are stationed near Seoul, Korea.

Not a bjj black belt, he is a TKD instructor. He was wearing a purple belt last year and no one has ever heard of the guy who purportedly promoted him. Tell you buddy to go to Frankl's or a real bjj school (see links under Korea for bjj asia)

Yep, evidently his credentials are suspect. Used to say he was a BB under Telles but that didn't check out either.

Also he claims he got his black from a guy that claims that he himself got his black from Choi.

Hmhhh....

mickey is not a legit black belt, he has been reported to the federation. If he were in the united states he would be undergoing a suit for defamation and false claims. I trained w/ the guy he was a purple belt who wasnt even that good as a purple...his only medal was when he knew the 1 other guy could not compete...ridiculous
